Blogging Pink for a Worthy Cause

In honor of Breast Cancer Awareness month, many design bloggers have decided to post Pink today. So, in support of a very worthy cause and in the spirit of camaraderie, I decided to mine my trove of vintage magazines for pink images. We've all heard that pink is a universally flattering color, and if it works on your face then why not on your walls, beds, and furniture too? And pink is not just for women either. Men seem to love it too.

You're indulging your Inner Mid-Century Modernist!

  6. I don't do pink generally, but I'm finding myself going back and checking out a few of the pieces in these shots. in particular:
the hot pink chair and that black day bed against the pink wall.

also, I'm wondering how I can work that turban into my daily ensembles.

  7. Megan- I can't wait until I'm old enough to wear turbans. Joan Collins rocked the turban on Dynasty!

  8. Joan Collins still looks fabulous, too. She did a short stint on daytime television a couple of years ago and looked better than women half her age. She's a classic, and yes, she did rock the turban!

That daybed is stunning, but I confess to liking pink. I always liked Mario Buatta's "Nancy" glazed chintz with pink and blue morning glories on a pinkish ground. The green of the leaves was indescribable. So pretty and fresh.

Speaking of pink, thank you for supporting this worthy cause.

  10. Sheila- I adore Joan Collins- she looks amazing! I don't know if I'm familiar with Buatta's chintz, but I like the sound of it.

  16. Jennifer -- A + for originality and grooviest pictures. The bedrooms!

I think you could rock the turban because of your Liz Taylor eyes!
